The social progressives in America are like the mythical hordes of zombies depicted in literature and film. Zombies are the from the minds of writers, but social progressives are a real plague upon our country, frothing at the mouth with dreams of Americans being slaves to the State.
Antonin Scalia, Supreme Court Justice
Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia died Saturday to the shock of most. Justice Scalia was a defender of the Constitution and as such a friend to liberty. It would be disingenuous to claim Justice Scalia was flawless or some saint, for he was a man, and we are all flawed in some way. He was one of a shrinking number of Justices in the Supreme Court with an originalist view of the Constitution. He was quoted as saying, “Sometimes people come up to me and inquire, ‘Justice Scalia, when did you first become an originalist?’ As though it’s some weird affliction, you know, ‘When did you start eating human flesh?’” He was not timid to argue for what was right and Constitutional. He believed in what the Constitution stands for and what it allows, “A Constitution is not meant to facilitate change. It is meant to impede change, to make it difficult to change.” I’m concerned his sage counsel will be replaced by someone who does not have the moral and prudent viewpoint and voice of Justice Antonin Scalia.
Hardly before the corpse was cold the progressive media, President Obama, and their minions of zombie progressives began their needling of his death and for whom will replace him. Will Obama act quickly to “appoint” a replacement? Will the Senate block or delay any nominee? Will Obama appoint a progressive judge? Wouldn’t it be great if the new Justice would be a super-progressive. Just some of the things I have heard and seen across MSM channels and social media since Saturday afternoon.
On the other side of the field, conservatives, constitutionalists, Three Percenters, Patriots reacted and theorized of what happened and what’s next. Almost instantly theories of Justice Scalia having been assassinated and the potential culprits were as wide-ranging as you would expect. This theory as of yet has not had help being lessened with the probability that an autopsy will not be performed
. Concerns about a super-progressive Justice being nominated swirled, as well as the theories of consequences that could result in such a nomination.
The implications of another progressive Justice heavily depend on to what degree of progressivism the individual prescribes to. A nominee with a modicum of respect for the Constitution could be drastically different than one who is as progressive as the likes of super-progressives Barbra Boxer or Chuck Schumer.
The Supreme Court stands ideologically divided, a mirror of America today. A progressive Justice would drastically alter the balance between the Constitutional republican government and progressive democratic government. The slope towards civil war would steepen, possibly to a degree that war will be unavoidable in the coming months or years. To what extent the new Justice prescribes to progressivism will determine how steep and slick that slope will be. This is not to say that any nominee by a possible Republican Party President would be much better since the RNC and DNC are basically one in the same.
Brainstorming some of the outcomes of what could result by a super-progressive Justice being confirmed to the Supreme Court consist of:
Future gun bans and confiscations being upheld
Laws restricting free speech being upheld
Laws or treaties diluting our national or state sovereignty being upheld
States’ rights being further eroded
Extra-constitutional Executive Orders being upheld
Extra-constitutional Federal rules and regulations being upheld
And the list could likely go further.
Essentially, the days of the ‘Supreme Law of the Land’, the Constitution, would be numbered. The Federal government would further illegitimatize itself by ignoring and subverting the contract that it derives its authority from. It would be as if the Federal government was out rioting and looting the streets of America – lawlessness.
What can we the people do if a super-progressive Justice is seated on the Supreme Court, I have no answer. At that point, the only option may be to arm yourself as best as possible, be capable of defending your life, your property, your liberty. George Mason
was correct when he said the new government would, “produce a monarchy, or a corrupt, tyrannical aristocracy
